Representative Cases

Action by our client, Carroll Touch Inc., against Electro Mechanical Systems Inc., for patent infringement in which defendant counterclaimed for antitrust violations and unfair competition. The technology involved photoelectric touch input panels for use over a computer's display device (e.g., a cathode-ray tube) which enables a user to communicate with the computer by touching a location on the display screen.

The district court granted Carroll Touch's motion for summary judgement and dismissed the antitrust and unfair competition counterclaims. On appeal, this decision was affirmed by the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.
