CHICAGO - Brinks Hofer Gilson & Lione, one of the largest intellectual property law firms in the United States, has been ranked among the leading 25 law firms in the area of patent litigation in the United States, including both IP boutiques and general practice firms with IP departments, and among the leading 22 law firms in the area of non-patent litigation in the United States, including both IP boutiques and general practice firms with IP groups by the Practical Law Company's (PLC) Which Lawyer? Yearbook 2009.
In addition, the firm was ranked as sharing the highest ranking, ("Leading") for a Chicago IP practice with one other firm, a general practice firm with an IP department.
The survey singled out senior shareholder, Roy E. Hofer, as a "Leading Individual;" senior shareholder Jerome Gilson and Brinks president, Gary M. Ropski as "Highly Recommended Individuals;" and shareholders Raymond W. Green and Jerold A. Jacover as "Recommended Individuals."
The Yearbook's 14th edition rankings are based on more than 6,000 responses to surveys of in-house counsel in companies listed in the PLC Law Department Profiles and on interviews with private practitioners.
