CHICAGO - Brinks Hofer Gilson & Lione, one of the largest intellectual property law firms in the U.S., is pleased to announce that shareholders Allen R. Baum and James R. Sobieraj have been named leading intellectual property strategists by Intellectual Asset Management (IAM) magazine's 2009 IAM 250 - A Guide to the World's Leading IP Strategists. Individuals included in the IAM 250 have demonstrated a well-rounded approach to intellectual property valuation and have incorporated these advances into overall business strategies.
Mr. Baum and Mr. Sobieraj are both past presidents of the Licensing Executives Society (LES) USA & Canada. LES is a professional organization involved in the licensing, developing, protecting and commercialization of intellectual property.
Mr. Baum is the managing partner of the Research Triangle Park, NC office of Brinks Hofer Gilson & Lione and focuses his practice on strategic intellectual property counseling and litigation in the areas of chemistry, pharmaceuticals, biochemistry and biotechnology. Mr. Baum received his J.D. from Widener University School of Law in Wilmington, DE and a B.S. in chemistry from Muhlenberg College in Allentown, PA.
Mr. Sobieraj is a licensed patent attorney with more than 25 years of experience in the procurement, licensing and enforcement of intellectual property rights. He received his J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School and a B.S. in electrical engineering, magna cum laude, from the University of Michigan.
