Two Brinks Hofer Gilson & Lione Attorneys Named to "2009 Utah Legal Elite"

SALT LAKE CITY - Brinks Hofer Gilson & Lione, one of the largest intellectual property law firms in the United States, is pleased to announce that attorneys Christopher  L. Wight and Ryan L. Marshall, both of the Salt Lake City, UT office of Brinks, have been chosen as two of Utah Business magazine's "2009 Utah Legal Elite™." The complete listing of attorneys selected for the "2009 Utah Legal Elite" appears in the January 2009 edition of Utah Business magazine.

Mr. Wight has practiced intellectual property law for 24 years, specializing in domestic and foreign patent preparation and prosecution in the biotechnology, pharmaceutical and chemical fields, strategic counseling and technology licensing. He received his J.D. from the J. Reuben Clark Law School of Brigham Young University and a B.A. in chemistry from Brigham Young University.

Mr. Marshall prosecutes patent applications in the chemical, pharmaceutical and biochemical arts in the U.S. and abroad; counsels and prepares opinions in patent matters; and performs intellectual property evaluations, audits and due diligence reviews. Mr. Marshall also litigates intellectual property and unfair competition claims. He received his J.D. from the J. Reuben Clark Law School, an M.S. in organic chemistry and a B.S. in chemistry, all from Brigham Young University.

The "Utah Legal Elite" honorees were selected by their legal peers in a statewide balloting process. Nominators were allowed to cast only one ballot and could not vote for themselves. The list was pared down by the number of votes and a Blue Ribbon Panel of prominent lawyers in each specialty reviewed the list of attorneys. This 6th annual listing of the Utah Business "Legal Elite" recognizes and honors Utah's top lawyers as surveyed by one of Utah's leading business publications.
