Legal 500 Names Brinks Hofer Gilson & Lione One of the Top 25 Patent Litigation Law Firms in the U.S. for 2008

CHICAGO - Brinks Hofer Gilson & Lione, one of the largest intellectual property law firms in the U.S., has been recognized as one of the top patent litigation law firms in the country among both boutique and general practice firms with IP practices for 2008 by The Legal 500 - United States.

According to The Legal 500 - U.S., "clients remain happy with Brinks' 'excellent' service and 'good-value' advice." The directory quotes the firm's 50% increase in patent litigation matters in 2007 as the reason for a wave of new hires and singles out recent hire, Kelly K. Burris, an attorney in the firm's Ann Arbor office, as adding "her background in engineering to the firm's strong technical competence."

In addition, the directory mentions Chicago-based shareholder, Meredith Martin Addy, who litigates in "district and appeals courts for mainly life sciences companies," as "knowledgeable, service-oriented and available." James Sobieraj, a shareholder and former chair of the Litigation Group in Brinks' Chicago office, is described as "well versed in the various electronics industries."

The Legal 500 - U.S. is a practical, comprehensive and up-to-date listing of the leading law firms in the U.S. legal market. The guide assesses firms by both geographical area and practice area and offers analyses of firm strengths. The performance of each firm is assessed by reviewing a wide range of criteria. Recommendations from clients provide a first-hand report on service quality and interviews with lawyers in each practice area help to provide a clearer picture of each firm.
