ANN ARBOR - Chicago-based Brinks Hofer Gilson & Lione, one of the largest intellectual property law firms in the United States, announced that the firm's Ann Arbor office has been ranked by Crain's Detroit Business, a preeminent business weekly, as the eighth largest intellectual property law firm in the southeast Michigan area, which encompasses Wayne, Oakland, Macomb, Washtenaw and Livingston counties.
The Ann Arbor office is led by managing partner, Steven P. Oberholtzer, who also serves as a member of the firm's Board of Directors. Established in 2000, Brinks' Ann Arbor office has grown to 33 total staff, including 18 attorneys and a Ph.D. patent agent. Recent expansion of the office includes the arrival of four attorneys from Pfizer, who joined Brinks in 2007, including two who hold Ph.D's in addition to law degrees.
