Brinks Hofer Gilson & Lione's Oberholtzer and Sosenko Named 2007 Michigan Super Lawyers

CHICAGO - Brinks Hofer Gilson & Lione, one of the largest intellectual property law firms in the U.S., is pleased to announce Steven L. Oberholtzer and Eric J. Sosenko have been named "Michigan Super Lawyers" for 2007 in the practice area category of Intellectual Property Law in the second annual survey conducted by Law & Politics magazine. Both attorneys are based in the Ann Arbor, Michigan office of the firm.

Super Lawyers surveyed more than 30,000 Michigan attorneys in practice for at least five years and representing more than 60 areas of practice. The survey asked respondents to identify those Michigan lawyers with whom they had either personally worked or felt were outstanding in their respective practice areas. Attorneys from firms of all sizes were considered as well as those in private and public service practice, prosecutors and in-house counsel.

The complete list of Michigan Super Lawyers will be published in a special advertising supplement in The New York Times (Michigan edition) and in Michigan Super Lawyers magazine which is sent to attorneys in Michigan, nationwide to the lead counsel of Russell 3000 companies and to ABA-accredited law school.

Steven L. Oberholtzer
Mr. Oberholtzer is the managing partner of the Ann Arbor office of Brinks Hofer Gilson & Lione and a member of the firm's Board of Directors. He focuses his practice on patent and trademark counseling, corporate intellectual property policy development, technology licensing, joint development and joint venture relationship agreements, United States Patent and Trademark Office administrative proceedings including interferences, re-examinations, re-issues, trademark oppositions, patent application preparation and prosecution, providing opinions regarding infringement risks, design-around projects and patentability and administration of corporate intellectual property portfolios. Mr. Oberholtzer received his J.D. from the Detroit College of Law at Michigan State University and his B.S. in mechanical engineering from General Motors Institute, now Kettering University.

Eric J. Sosenko
Mr. Sosenko's intellectual property law practice concentrates on counseling, licensing and procurement before the United States Patent and Trademark Office, as well as extensive practice with major foreign patenting authorities, including China and Europe. His international practice includes experience with international applications under the Patent Cooperation Treaty and directly-filed foreign national applications. In the area of counseling, he also provides infringement risk assessment and avoidance opinions, patentability opinions and the management of corporate intellectual property portfolios. Mr. Sosenko received his J.D. from West Virginia University College of Law and his B.S. in mechanical engineering also from West Virginia University.
