Brinks Hofer Gilson & Lione President Gary Ropski to Participate in MCCA Diversity Roundtable in Washington, D.C.

CHICAGO – Gary M. Ropski, president of Brinks Hofer Gilson & Lione, one of the largest intellectual property law firms in the U.S., is one of five law firm executives invited to participate in a roundtable discussion on the metrics of diversity management at top law firms. The panel will be held on August 7, 2007, in Washington, D.C. and is sponsored by the Minority Corporate Counsel Association (MCCA) and its publication, Diversity & the Bar. The discussion will focus on how these firms measure success as it pertains to diversity and will be moderated by Hinton J. Lucas, Associate General Counsel and Chief Administrative Counsel of DuPont.

In recognition of MCCA’s 10th anniversary this year, Diversity & the Bar will publish a special issue which will feature an article based on the roundtable discussion.

Gary Ropski has practiced intellectual property law exclusively since joining Brinks Hofer Gilson & Lione in 1976. His practice now focuses on litigation, but has included patent prosecution and litigation; trademark prosecution, including oppositions and litigation; trade dress litigation; copyright registration and litigation; trade secret litigation; right of publicity counseling and litigation; and related unfair competition and antitrust matters in federal and state courts. He was elected president of the firm in 2006.

The Minority Corporate Counsel Association (MCCA) was founded in 1997 to advocate for the expanded hiring, retention and promotion of minority attorneys in corporate law departments and the law firms that serve them. Diversity & the Bar is published bi-monthly by MCCA and distributed to 40,000 legal professionals at law firms and corporate law departments. For more information, please visit www.mcca.com.
