Robert K. Fergan Takes Leadership Roles at the State Bar of Michigan and American Bar Association

CHICAGO Robert K. Fergan, an attorney in the Ann Arbor, Michigan office of Brinks Hofer Gilson & Lione, one of the largest intellectual property law firms in the U.S., was recently elected to the position of Chair-Elect of the State Bar of Michigan’s Young Lawyers Section.

In addition to his position as Chair-Elect, Mr. Fergan has been appointed to sit on the State Bar of Michigan’s Board of Commissioners for a three-year term. He was also recently appointed Co-Chair of the Young Lawyers Committee of the American Bar Association’s Intellectual Property Law Section.

Mr. Fergan concentrates his intellectual property practice in patent preparation and prosecution, both in the U.S. and internationally, and has prepared and prosecuted patents in the electrical, mechanical, electro-mechanical and computer science arts, as well as patents related to business methods. He received his B.S. degree in electrical engineering from Kettering University (formerly known as General Motors Institute) and his J.D. from Wayne State University Law School in Detroit.
