CHICAGO– Brinks Hofer Gilson & Lione, one of the largest intellectual property law firms in the United States, is pleased to announce that Laura A. Lydigsen has joined the firm as an associate. She will focus her intellectual property practice on patent litigation.

Before joining Brinks, Ms. Lydigsen worked as a law clerk for Judge Ruben Castillo of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois and was a law clerk for Judge Alvin A. Schall of the U. S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.

Ms. Lydigsen was ranked first in her law school class and received various awards, including the Breckinridge Book Award for outstanding performance in legal research and writing, and was named the Midwest Regional Winner for the Giles Rich Moot Court Team in 2004.  She also served on the editorial staff of the Washington University Law Quarterly and was a student coordinator for the St. Louis Volunteer Lawyers and Accountants for the Arts, a group which helps organizations for the arts incorporate as non-profit agencies.

Ms. Lydigsen received her J.D. from the Washington University School of Law in St. Louis and her B.A., cum laude, in biological sciences and French cultural studies from Wellesley College in Massachusetts.
