CHICAGO - Brinks Hofer Gilson & Lione is the sixth largest intellectual property law boutique according to a list of the largest IP law practices in the U.S. prepared annually by Managing Intellectual Property magazine. The list includes general practice law firms as well as IP boutiques. Brinks ranks among the top 20 of all firms with an intellectual property practice. The survey, in its fourth year, is based on the total number of IP practitioners and patent and trademark agents at a firm as of July 1, 2006.
In addition to being one of the largest IP law firms in the country, Brinks is the largest law firm in the Midwest that is dedicated solely to the practice of intellectual property law.
"As we continue to expand our intellectual property practice, we are committed to superior work product and exceptional client service," said Brinks president Gary M. Ropski. "Our focus as a large national IP boutique permits us to dedicate ourselves uniquely to these goals."
Managing Intellectual Property, founded in 1990, is a publication of the Euromoney Legal Media Group, with offices in London, Hong Kong, and New York and is one of the leading international magazines covering the intellectual property field.
Founded in 1917, Brinks Hofer Gilson & Lione is based in Chicago with four additional offices across the country serving the intellectual property needs of clients from around the world. The firm is one of the largest IP law firms in the country, with more than 150 attorneys, scientific advisors and patent agents specializing in intellectual property litigation and all aspects of patent, trademark, copyright, trade secret, unfair competition, intellectual asset management, and technology and licensing agreements. Brinks routinely handles assignments in fields as diverse as electrical, chemical, mechanical, biotechnology, pharmaceutical, nanotechnology, Internet and computer technology, as well as in trademarks or brand names for a wide variety of products and services.
