CHICAGO - Brinks Hofer Gilson & Lione, one of the largest intellectual property law firms in the United States, is pleased to announce that Bradley L. Smith has recently joined the firm as counsel in the firm's Ann Arbor, Michigan office.
"We are thrilled to have Brad as a part of our team," said Steven L. Oberholtzer, Managing Partner of Brinks' Ann Arbor office. "His extensive experience in litigation will be a great asset to our firm and our clients."
Mr. Smith focuses his practice on intellectual property litigation, including patent and copyright infringement. He has more than 14 years of litigation experience in a wide range of industries, including software, electronics, automotive manufacturing, pharmaceuticals and financial services.
Prior to joining Brinks, Mr. Smith was a litigation partner at a general practice law firm in Ann Arbor, where he supervised jury and non-jury trials and several AAA arbitrations. In addition, Mr. Smith was the managing editor of the Michigan Law Reviewand was a law clerk to the Honorable Edith H. Jones, the current Chief Judge of the Fifth Circuit.
Mr. Smith received his J.D. degree from the University of Michigan Law School and his B.S. degree in agricultural and biological engineering from Cornell University. He also holds an M.B.A. with a concentration in finance and international trade from the Cornell University Johnson Graduate School of Management.
