CHICAGO – James R. Sobieraj, chair of the litigation practice at Brinks Hofer Gilson & Lione, one of the largest intellectual property law firms in the U.S., was named president-elect of the Intellectual Property Law Association of Chicago (IPLAC) for 2006-2007 at its annual meeting on May 17, 2006 at the University Club, Chicago.
Sobieraj, a litigator, has more than 24 years of experience in the procurement, licensing and enforcement of intellectual property rights and has been lead counsel in cases involving patent infringement, ownership of patent rights, license disputes, misappropriation of trade secrets, trade dress infringement, unfair competition, false advertising, defamation, fraud, RICO and antitrust.
He is also a member of the Board of Directors of the National Inventors Hall of Fame Foundation, past President of the Licensing Executives Society U.S. and Canada and a member of the American Intellectual Property Law Association
