Brinks Hofer Gilson & Lione Ranks among Top Patent Litigation Firms in Managing IP's Annual World IP Survey

CHICAGO – Brinks Hofer Gilson & Lione, one of the largest intellectual property law firms in the United States, has ranked among the top patent litigation firms in the United States according to Managing Intellectual Property magazine’s annual World IP Survey. The survey, published in the February issue of Managing Intellectual Property, is compiled based on more than 2,000 surveys of both clients and IP practitioners.

“This survey is especially gratifying as it is based on the opinions of both our clients and our peers,” said Brinks president Gary M. Ropski. “There is no greater honor than the high esteem of both these groups.”

Managing Intellectual Property’s annual survey of leading patent firms, now in its 10th year of publication, is the result of five months of research. It is based on the experiences of hundreds of clients and practitioners worldwide. The magazine, part of the Euromoney Legal Media Group, is an international publication for intellectual property owners, with over 10,000 readers across the globe, three-quarters of which are senior in-house counsel in multinational companies.

Founded in 1917, Brinks Hofer Gilson & Lione is based in Chicago with three other offices across the country serving the intellectual property needs of clients from around the world. The firm is one of the largest IP law firms in the country, with more than 150 attorneys, scientific advisors and patent agents specializing in intellectual property litigation and all aspects of patent, trademark, copyright, trade secret, unfair competition, intellectual asset management, and technology and licensing agreements. Brinks routinely handles assignments in fields as diverse as electrical, chemical, mechanical, biotechnology, pharmaceutical, nanotechnology, Internet and computer technology, as well as in trademarks or brand names for a wide variety of products and services.
