Brinks Hofer Gilson & Lione Signs New Lease Through 2024 at Prestigious NBC Tower

CHICAGO - Brinks Hofer Gilson & Lione, one of the largest intellectual property law firms in the U.S., today announced that it has signed a 20-year lease with provisions for additional space and future expansion options at the prestigious NBC Tower, 455 N. Cityfront Plaza Drive, Chicago.

A tenant since the building first opened in 1989, Brinks now occupies nearly 100,000 square feet of the top six floors, featuring unparalleled views of the city, a spectacular reception area, a lunch room for attorneys and staff and an exercise room with men’s and women’s changing facilities in addition to its state of the art library, docketing and IS departments. With the new lease, Brinks will gain at least two additional floors, including more than 20,000 square feet and options for significant future growth.

“We are most pleased to expand our presence here in this first-class building,” said Jerold A. Jacover, president of Brinks. “With our commitment to remain in this location and the added space, the firm is poised for successful growth and expansion well into the future. We look forward to increasing our capabilities and to providing the uninterrupted delivery of the highest quality legal services to our clients.”

Representing Brinks in the lease negotiations is David Justh, Todd Lippman, Bill Rogers and James Whalen of CB Richard Ellis, a Fortune 1000 company with more than 300 offices in 50 countries and one of the world’s leading commercial real estate services firm. Patrick Kiefer and Jeff Samaras of Cushman & Wakefield, a global real estate service firm that manages the building, are representing the owners.

In a city renowned for its celebrated architecture, Chicago’s NBC Tower at Cityfront Center, situated within the historic Michigan Avenue Bridge District along the Chicago River, is an excellent example of postmodern design with notable Art Deco influence and is reminiscent of the RCA Building at Rockefeller Center in New York City. The building has approximately 850,000 square feet of rentable space including a 38-story tower with a four-story radio and television broadcasting facility.

Founded in 1917, Brinks Hofer Gilson & Lione is based in Chicago with three other offices across the country and serves the intellectual property needs of clients from around the world. The firm is one of the largest IP law firms in the country, with approximately 150 attorneys, scientific advisors and patent agents who specialize in all aspects of patent, trademark, copyright, trade secret and Internet work, unfair competition, technology and licensing agreements, intellectual asset management and in intellectual property litigation.
