Jerome Gilson Named Keynote Speaker at 2005 INTA Trademark Administrators Conference
Speech will address the Lanham Act and focus on non-traditional marks

CHICAGO — Jerome Gilson, a shareholder and senior partner at Brinks Hofer Gilson & Lione, will be the keynote speaker at the 2005 International Trademark Association’s Trademark Administrators Conference. This year’s conference will take place at the Marriott Chicago Downtown Hotel from September 18-21, 2005. 

Mr. Gilson's presentation, "The Lanham Act-Looking Back, Looking Forward," will focus on the Act's background as well as on non-traditional marks (sound, scent, motion, etc.). The presentation will take place on Tuesday, September 20, 2005, from 12:15 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Mr. Gilson has specialized in trademark and unfair competition law for more than 40 years. He handles trademark trials and appeals in the federal courts and before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board, mediates trademark disputes and handles a wide variety of counseling and drafting in the field. 

He has been selected as one of "The Best Lawyers in America," with special mention as one of a distinguished group of attorneys who have been listed for 10 years or longer. Mr. Gilson received his A.B. from the University of Missouri in 1952. He received his J.D. from the Northwestern University School of Law in Chicago in 1958.
