Kent E. Genin Named Chair of Brinks Hofer Gilson & Lione's Patent Prosecution Group

CHICAGO — Brinks Hofer Gilson & Lione, one of the largest intellectual property law firms in the United States, is pleased to announce that Kent E. Genin has been named Chair of the Firm's Patent Prosecution Group.

“Kent's work and leadership within the Patent Prosecution group has been invaluable over the years,” said Jerold A. Jacover, Brinks president. “Given the unique set of abilities and skills that Kent possesses, we know that he will be able to lead our attorneys and serve our clients in the best manner possible.”

Mr. Genin, a shareholder with the firm since 2000, has extensive experience with patent prosecution and litigation in electrical (telecommunications, software, business methods) and mechanical (medical devices, manufacturing equipment) technologies. He counsels clients regarding patentability, validity, infringement and licensing issues.

Prior to joining Brinks, Mr. Genin worked for Trimble Navigation where he designed and built radio frequency (RF) analog circuitry for Global Positioning System (GPS) satellite navigation receivers. Mr. Genin received his B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University in 1988. He received his J.D. from The University of Cincinnati College of Law in 1993.
