CHICAGO — Brinks Hofer Gilson & Lione is pleased to announce that Cynthia A. Homan, a shareholder at the firm, has been re-elected as Co-Chair of Lambda Legal’s Board. Ms. Homan was elected by the full Board of Directors and will serve a one-year term.
“I am very grateful to my fellow Lambda Legal board members for re-electing me to Co-Chair our Board of Directors in 2005,” said Ms. Homan. “Serving as Co-Chair this past year was a very rewarding experience and I am eager to continue our work in the year ahead.”
Lambda Legal's Board of Directors is comprised of 30 people from 10 states and the District of Columbia. The co-chairs lead the Board in its programming and fundraising efforts toward achieving full recognition of the civil rights of lesbians, gay men, bisexuals, transgender people and those with HIV through impact litigation, education and public policy work.
Ms. Homan's legal practice is focused nearly exclusively on brief writing. She is the Chair of the firm’s Appellate Practice Committee. In addition to being a member of Lambda Legal's Board of Directors since 2003, Ms. Homan belongs to the Women's Bar Association of Illinois, the Intellectual Property Law Association of Chicago and the American Intellectual Property Law Association.
Ms. Homan received her B.A. in Russian Language & Area Studies from the University of Illinois and her M.L.S. from the University of Pittsburgh. She received her J.D. from DePaul University College of Law in 1981.
