IP Law Firm Brinks Hofer Gilson & Lione Plays Santa to More Than 430 Mason Elementary School Children in Chicago

Jerome Gilson (standing) of IP law firm Brinks Hofer Gilson & Lione and staff members help the children, teachers and parents of Mason Elementary School open more than 800 gifts contributed by the firm in response to the childrens' wish lists to Santa. Working directly with the school, Brinks attorneys and staff responded to a record number of more than 430 letters.

CHICAGO, IL — Amid shrieks of joy, peals of laughter and many ooohs and aaahs, 430 children, ranging in age from pre-school to 2nd grade, from the Roswell B. Mason Elementary School, 4216 W. 19th Street, Chicago, opened more than 800 holiday gifts donated through the "Dear Santa at Mason School" program by the attorneys and staff of Brinks Hofer Gilson & Lione, one of the largest intellectual property law firms in the U.S.

"It is truly our pleasure and privilege to share the spirit of the holiday season with the children, parents, teachers and staff of Mason School," said Brinks president, Jerold A. Jacover. "The attorneys and staff have so magnificently given of themselves, not merely monetarily, but in time, effort and dedication to this wonderful program, in keeping with our firm's strong commitment to corporate responsibility and community involvement."

Brinks attorneys and staff members selected one or more of the "Letters to Santa" written by the children and, in response, fulfilled their requests for a wide assortment of wishes. Ceiling-high piles of festively wrapped gifts were contributed, including bicycles, a variety of dolls, electronic and traditional board games, books, sporting equipment and clothing, collected and then delivered by truck to the school and opened at the school's annual holiday party.

Brinks began its participation as part of the Chicago Sun-Times "Letters to Santa" program with a handful of secretaries giving a dozen or so gifts. Now, working directly with Dr. Vivian Hudson Davis, principal, and Lillie Calhoun, teacher/counselor, at Mason School, last year's commitment rose to more than 260 letters. However, this year, Brinks' participation hit the record level of more than 430 children who were provided with gifts that they may not otherwise have received and the knowledge that Santa, and friends, had not forgotten them.

Founded in 1917, Brinks Hofer Gilson & Lione provides intellectual property legal services worldwide. The firm is one of the largest intellectual property law firms in the country, with approximately 150 attorneys who specialize in IP litigation and all aspects of patent, trademark, copyright, trade secret, Internet, unfair competition and related licensing matters.
