CHICAGO - Brinks Hofer Gilson & Lione, one of the largest intellectual property law firms in the United States, has been ranked the largest IP firm in Chicago, according to Crain’s Chicago Business. In its annual list of “Chicago’s largest law firms,” published in the September 13, 2004 issue, Brinks is the only intellectual property law firm on the list. Crain’s list included the largest 35 law firms, ranked by the number of attorneys, as of July 1, 2004.
"As a full-service intellectual property firm, we concentrate on only one thing, but I think we do it better than any one else in the world,” said Brinks President Jerold A. Jacover.
Earlier this year, Brinks was cited as sharing first place with another firm as the top intellectual property law practice in Illinois for the second year in a row, according to the renowned London-based, Chambers USA: A Guide to America's Leading Business Lawyers. According to Chambers USA's Guide, "this comprehensive IP boutique (Brinks) has emerged as the leader among specialist firms in Chicago." The guide notes that researchers were "impressed by the firm's domination of the Illinois market."
