CHICAGO - The intellectual property law firm Brinks Hofer Gilson & Lione was voted the top law firm for patent and trademark work in the Central United States, according to Managing Intellectual Property magazine.
The magazine's annual survey, which was published in the October and November issues, named Brinks first in both patent and trademark litigation and non-contentious patent and trademark work. Brinks was cited as one of the top intellectual property law firms in the United States in each of the six years the survey has been conducted. The UK-based magazine surveyed approximately 4,000 specialists in companies and private practices across 100 countries to determine the rankings.
"Brinks has topped the magazine's trademark rankings for the second time in two years and we are extremely happy to once again be singled out as the trademark leader,"said Jerome Gilson, who heads the firm's Trademark Practice. "Brinks lawyers work extremely hard representing the diverse needs of our trademark clients. It's nice to have that work recognized by such a prestigious publication."
In the patent rankings, the firm jumped to the top slot after being ranked fourth last year. "It's terrific that Brinks was cited as the patent and trademark leader in both surveys," added Brinks President Jerold A. Jacover. "I'm proud of everyone on the patent and trademark teams who made this possible."
Founded in 1917, Brinks Hofer Gilson & Lione is based in Chicago, with offices in San Jose, Calif., Indianapolis, Ind., Ann Arbor, Mich. and Arlington, Va. The firm is one of the largest intellectual property law firms in the country, with approximately 130 attorneys who specialize in intellectual property litigation and all aspects of patent, trademark, copyright, trade secret and Internet work, unfair competition and technology and licensing agreements.
