Brian A. Jones Joins Brinks' Chicago Office as Associate

CHICAGO – Brinks Hofer Gilson & Lione, one of the largest intellectual property law firms in the country, is pleased to announce that Brian A. Jones has joined the firm’s Chicago office as an associate.

Mr. Jones focuses his intellectual property law practice on patent litigation and prosecution, as well as copyright, trademark and trade secret litigation. Mr. Jones has a background in electronic circuit design, systems integration and quality assurance, spanning wireless communication systems, electronic control systems and automotive electronics.

Before joining Brinks, Mr. Jones worked in the patent management and clearance department of the Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company in Hsinchu, Taiwan. Previously, he worked as a data quality and business analyst for the corporate actuarial/institutional markets department at CNA Insurance and was a quality engineer for Diehl Controls North America. He also worked as an electrical engineer for Siemens VDO in Würzburg, Germany, and for Motorola, Inc.

Mr. Jones holds a J.D. from The John Marshall Law School and a B.S. in electrical engineering from the University of Illinois. While in law school, he served as Managing Editor of The John Marshall Review of Intellectual Property Law. Mr. Jones also studied at the Universität Regensburg in Germany and is fluent in German.
