Brinks Hofer Gilson & Lione Names Oberholtzer Branch Office Manager

CHICAGO - Steven L. Oberholtzer has been promoted to the position of Branch Office Manager at the Ann Arbor, Michigan, office of Chicago intellectual property firm Brinks Hofer Gilson & Lione, firm President Jerold A. Jacover announced today.

"The Ann Arbor office is extremely important to Brinks," Jacover said. "We've invested much in our operations there, and I can't think of a better person now to run the office than Steve Oberholtzer." 

Oberholtzer, a firm shareholder, specializes in patent and trademark counseling, corporate intellectual property policy development, technology licensing, joint development and joint venture relationship agreements and United States Patent and Trademark Office administrative proceedings. He has extensive experience in the mechanical and electro-mechanical disciplines with particular emphasis on automotive industry issues.

"I'm excited about this opportunity," Oberholtzer said. "The success of the Brinks' Ann Arbor office has been remarkable and reflects the growing importance of protecting intellectual property assets of businesses, especially in the technology-driven commercial sectors that dominate the economy of Southeast Michigan."

Oberholtzer is former chair of the Washtenaw County Bar Association Intellectual Property Law Section and a member of the Technology Transfer Society, Michigan Patent Law Association. He holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from General Motors Institute and a J.D. from the Detroit College of Law.
