Brinks Boasts Eighteen Attorneys in 2011 Best Lawyers in America

CHICAGO – Eighteen attorneys from Brinks Hofer Gilson & Lione have been named leaders in IP law in the 18th edition of The Best Lawyers in America for 2011, the oldest and most respected peer-review publication in the legal profession. Inclusion in Best Lawyers is based on a peer-review survey of more than 3.1 million confidential evaluations sent to the top attorneys in the country.

In addition, Brinks shareholder Roy E. Hofer was also named 2011 Lawyer of the Year in Intellectual Property, and Mr. Hofer and Brinks shareholder Jerome Gilson share the distinction of having been listed in Best Lawyers for 21 consecutive years.

Other attorneys named to the Best Lawyers list include the firm's current president, Gary M. Ropski; president-elect James R. Sobieraj, who assumes the role of firm president in 2012; Meredith Martin Addy, who heads the firm's Appellate group; Laura Beth Miller, who leads the firm's ITC group; James P. Naughton, who heads the firm's Green Technology group; Thomas J. Filarski, who chairs the firm’s Biotechnology and Pharmaceutical group; Mary M. Squyres, who heads the International Trademark group; and Ralph J. Gabric, who chairs the Patent Litigation group.

Other attorneys recognized from Brinks' Chicago office are Jack C. Berenzweig, Henry L. Brinks, Timothy Q. Delaney, Jerold A. Jacover and Richard G. Lione.

Steven L. Oberholtzer, managing shareholder of the firm's office in Ann Arbor, Michigan and Eric J. Sosenko were named in the list, as was Allen R. Baum, who chairs Brinks' Chemical group and is managing shareholder of the firm's office in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina.
