Four New Associates Join Brinks' Chicago Office

CHICAGO – Brinks Hofer Gilson & Lione, one of the largest intellectual property law firms in the U.S., is pleased to announce that Danielle C. Cendrowski, Lawrence M. Chen, James M. Oehler and Karina Yuen Wong have joined Brinks Hofer Gilson & Lione's Chicago office as associates.

Danielle Cendrowski focuses her practice on patent litigation and prosecution with an emphasis in the mechanical arts. Ms. Cendrowski earned her J.D. from Boston University School of Law in 2010. She was a summer associate at Brinks in 2009 and after law school worked as a clerk on Brinks’ pro bono projects. Ms. Cendrowski earned a B.S.E. in mechanical engineering with a minor in mathematics from the University of Michigan in 2007. In 2005, while still an undergraduate, she interned for Chief Judge Bernard A. Friedman in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan.

Lawrence Chen’s practice will focus on all areas of intellectual property law, including patent prosecution in the United States and internationally, with a specific emphasis on the electrical and computer arts. Mr. Chen earned his J.D. from the University of Illinois College of Law in 2010, and was a summer associate at Brinks in 2009. Before attending law school, he was a staff consultant at Capgemini U.S. in Chicago. Mr. Chen earned an M.S. in electrical engineering in 2005 and a B.S. in computer engineering in 2003, both from the University of Illinois.

James Oehler’s practice will focus on patent prosecution as well as patent, copyright, and trademark litigation. Mr. Oehler earned his J.D. from Loyola University School of Law in 2010 and was a summer associate in Brinks’ Chicago office in 2009. After law school, he was a lead project mechanical engineer at Kiewit Power Engineers in Lenexa, Kansas. Prior to attending law school, he was a senior engineer at Sargent & Lundy in Chicago, Illinois and a lead mechanical engineer at Black & Veatch in Overland Park, Kansas. Mr. Oehler earned his B.S. in mechanical engineering from the University of Iowa in 2000.

Karina Yuen Wong will focus her practice on patent litigation and prosecution in the mechanical arts. She also practices trademark and unfair competition law. Ms. Wong earned her J.D. from the Chicago-Kent College of Law in 2010 and was a summer associate in Brinks’ Chicago office in 2009. Before attending law school she was a project manager and manufacturing engineer. While in law school, she was a patent analyst at Cardinal Intellectual Property. She earned her B.S. in mechanical engineering in 2004 from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
