Brinks Receives Legal Marketing Association Award for Excellence
Director of Business Development Inducted into LMA Midwest Hall of Fame

CHICAGO – Brinks Hofer Gilson & Lione has won the Your Honor Award for Excellence in the Events category from the Legal Marketing Association (LMA) Midwest Chapter for the firm's CLEar Knowledge Now vPanel programs. Additionally, Brinks’ Director of Business Development Joy Long has been inducted into the LMA Midwest’s Hall of Fame for her exceptional contributions to the legal marketing industry and to the Midwest Chapter throughout her career. Ms. Long and the firm received the awards at a gala reception held in Chicago on February 24.

The LMA Midwest Your Honor Awards recognize Midwest law firms that illustrate excellence in marketing, business development and communications programs. Brinks' winning entry offers clients a new way to attend Continuing Legal Educations (CLE) programs via live and on-demand video online by creating a virtual panel series, CLEar Knowledge Now, which can be viewed at www.usebrinks.com. The Brinks CLEar Knowledge Now vPanel programs are a cost-effective way to deliver interactive, educational programming to clients worldwide, many of whom are seeking alternative ways to continue their legal education and receive CLE credits. Recent vPanel programs have included Go Green or Go Home: A Discussion of the FTC's Updates to the Green Guides and Followers, Fans and Friends: IP Trends Surrounding the Use of Social Media, Including Twitter.  Brinks partnered with ShiftWorldwide LLC (www.shiftworldwide.com) and Herrmann Design + Technology (www.herrmann.com) on this project.

Election to the LMA Midwest Hall of Fame recognizes contributions made by individuals for the benefit of the industry, the association and its community of professionals. Inductees must have been actively involved in the profession for at least 15 years, and represent the highest levels of expertise and leadership.

“Joy Long is a most deserving recipient of this honor,” notes 2010 LMA Midwest Hall of Fame inductee Nancy Roberts Linder, a well-known law firm business development consultant. “Joy has parlayed her law firm marketing and business development success and leadership into an amazing tenure with the Chicago and now Midwest Chapter. One of the Chapter’s longest serving and most dedicated board members, she was the visionary and muscle behind the development of the Chapter’s very successful sponsorship program and remains a mentor who continues to help new marketers and seasoned colleagues advance their careers.”

With more than 18 years’ experience in the legal marketing industry, Ms. Long has been an active member and leader within the Legal Marketing Association since joining in 1993. She has served two terms as the Chapter’s President and terms as President-Elect, Treasurer and Secretary. She has also served as LMA Chicago's Sponsorship Chair and has been an active member of the Programming and Nominating Committees, and has led and served on panel and roundtable discussions. In addition, she is a member of the American Bar Association’s Standing Committee on Strategic Communications and is a member of the Midwest Clean Tech 2011 Planning Committee.
