CHICAGO – Gary M. Ropski, president of Brinks Hofer Gilson & Lione, has been named to Lawyer Monthly magazine’s “Leading Lawyer 100” for 2011, in the category of intellectual property.

The Leading Lawyer 100 is an international list that recognizes attorneys who stand out from their legal peers and have demonstrated excellence in their area of practice. Candidates were selected based on a combination of criteria, including feedback from Lawyer Monthly readership surveys, significant documented activity in 2010 compared to industry peers, recognition in other legal guides and involvement in noteworthy legal cases.

Mr. Ropski is a trial lawyer with 35 years of experience in intellectual property. He has litigated in every federal judicial circuit in the United States and in almost all of the top ten districts for patent litigation. Mr. Ropski has participated in more than 100 IP lawsuits, and has received accolades for how he presents and rebuts claims in litigation, making complex topics easily understandable by a jury or judge. Mr. Ropski also taught patent and copyright law for 17 years at the Northwestern University School of Law.

Lawyer Monthly covers corporate legal news, expert law guides, top legal firm features and global deal transaction reporting in each monthly issue.
