Law & Politics Lauds 24 Brinks Attorneys As 2011 Illinois Super Lawyers in Intellectual Property, Names Nine as Rising Stars

CHICAGO – Brinks Hofer Gilson & Lione, one of the largest intellectual property law firms in the U.S., is pleased to announce that 24 attorneys at the firm have been named Illinois Super Lawyers for 2011 by Law & Politics magazine. Additionally, nine Brinks attorneys have been recognized as Rising Stars.

"We are extremely pleased that Brinks' peers have again afforded us recognition in this directory," said Brinks president Gary M. Ropski, who was named to the list for the seventh straight year. "It is testament to the range, depth and quality of our firm's intellectual property practice."

Law and Politics surveyed more than 47,000 lawyers practicing in Illinois, representing 70 practice areas, and asked them to identify the best lawyers they had personally worked with or had observed in action. Attorneys from firms of all sizes were considered, as well as attorneys in private practice, prosecutors, in-house counsel and public service lawyers.

The Rising Stars category recognizes lawyers under the age of 40 or who have been in practice for ten years or fewer. Up to five percent of lawyers in the state are named Super Lawyers, but no more than 2.5 percent are named to the Rising Stars list.

The complete list appears in the 2011 Illinois Super Lawyers directory, which features articles about attorneys named to the list, and is also published in select consumer magazines. In addition, it is distributed to all attorneys in the state, to the lead corporate counsel of the Russell 3000 and to ABA-approved law school libraries.
