Gus Siller Selected as a Leading Law Firm Rainmaker by the MCCA

CHICAGO – Gustavo Siller, Jr., a shareholder at intellectual property law firm Brinks Hofer Gilson & Lione, has been lauded as a 2010 Leading Law Firm Rainmaker. He is featured in the November/December 2010 issue of Diversity & the Bar, a publication of the Minority Corporate Counsel Association (MCCA).Gus Siller Photo

The MCCA's Rainmakers are chosen from a list of nominees suggested by leading law firms across the country. They are recommended for their exceptional client service, team attitude, work ethic and success in rainmaking. Mr. Siller is one of sixteen top attorneys receiving the accolade this year.

Mr. Siller specializes in patent, trade secret, and unfair competition litigation, and in patent counseling and procurement. He supervises the patent portfolios of some of Brinks’ largest clients. As chair of the firm’s China Task Force, Mr. Siller leads an ongoing initiative to develop new relationships with Chinese companies, and with other organizations and agencies in China that are involved in the development of intellectual property and patentable products.

Born in Mexico, Mr. Siller has spent most of his life in Chicago. He started as an associate with Brinks in 1988, and was elected a shareholder in 1994. “Gus brought his strong talents and background to Brinks, and used them to establish and build a highly successful law practice. We are fortunate and proud to count him as one of our own, and this latest achievement comes as no surprise,” commented firm president Gary M. Ropski on hearing the news of Mr. Siller’s recognition by the MCCA.

Mr. Siller also chairs the firm’s Diversity Committee. Chicago Lawyer magazine honored Brinks earlier this year as being among the top 20 most diverse law firms in Illinois. “The firm is committed to recruiting professionals from diverse backgrounds,” said Mr. Ropski. “Through mentoring, social interactions and a thoughtful evaluation process, Brinks is dedicated to making opportunities available to all.”

Founded in 1997, MCCA advocates for the expanded hiring, retention, and promotion of minority attorneys in corporate law departments and the law firms that serve them and collects and disseminates information about diversity in the legal profession. Diversity & the Bar, MCCA’s premier publication, examines issues relating to the recruitment, retention, and promotion of minority attorneys in order to establish inclusiveness in the practice of law.
