Intellectual Property Law Firm Brinks Hofer Gilson & Lione Ranks Among Top PCT Filing Firms

CHICAGO – Brinks Hofer Gilson & Lione ranks among the top filers of applications for patents filed under the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT), according to Managing IP magazine. Rankings are based on details of PCT applications published on the website of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).

The Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT) is an international agreement that allows applicants to seek patent protection in multiple countries by filing an international application. PCT applications have increased in popularity since the start of the year, when the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and the Japan Patent Office agreed to fast-track them.

“Protecting intellectual property in today’s increasingly competitive global economy demands taking every possible step to protect ideas and their value internationally,” said Michael E. Milz, chair of the International Patent Group. “PCT applications help simplify the filing process, which is ultimately more cost-effective for our clients.”
