IAM Licensing 250 Names Three Brinks Attorneys Leading Patent & Technology Licensing Lawyers

CHICAGO – Brinks attorneys James R. Sobieraj, Allen R. Baum and Margaret A. Dobrowitsky were named leading licensing lawyers in the inaugural issue of Intellectual Asset Management Licensing 250 – The World’s Leading Patent & Technology Licensing Lawyers.

Both Mr. Baum and Mr. Sobieraj are past presidents of the Licensing Executives Society (LES) USA & Canada, the leading professional organization for attorneys involved in licensing, developing, protecting and marketing intellectual property. Both also are currently listed in Intellectual Asset Management magazine's "IAM 250 - A Guide to the World's Leading IP Strategists."

Mr. Sobieraj is a licensed patent attorney with more than 25 years of experience in the procurement, licensing and enforcement of intellectual property rights. He has held numerous leadership positions in LES and Licensing Executives Society International (LESI), and also is a board member of the National Inventors Hall of Fame Foundation. Mr. Sobieraj holds a J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School and a B.S. in electrical engineering, magna cum laude, from the University of Michigan.

Mr. Baum is the managing partner of Brinks' office in Research Triangle Park, N.C., and focuses his practice on strategic intellectual property counseling and litigation for chemistry, pharmaceutical development, biochemistry and biotechnology companies. He is a past president of LES (U.S.A. and Canada). Mr. Baum holds a J.D. from Widener University School of Law in Wilmington, Del., and a B.S. in chemistry from Muhlenberg College in Allentown, Penn.

Ms. Dobrowitsky’s practice focuses on drafting and negotiating intellectual property and commercial agreements. Prior to joining Brinks, she was senior patent counsel for business operations for a multinational U.S. corporation where she served as IP counsel for the mergers and acquisitions, information technology and telecommunications groups. She also served as patent counsel for the company's Mexican operations, and as general legal support for the general counsel in Mexico. She has served as Treasurer of the Association Internationale pour la Protection de la Propriété Intellectuelle (AIPPI). She holds a J.D. from the Detroit College of Law at Michigan State University and a B.S. in electrical and computer engineering from Wayne State University.
