CHICAGO – Brinks Hofer Gilson & Lione is hosting a luncheon in advance of its annual Brinks Innovation Competition at the upcoming Midwest Clean Tech 2010 Conference, from 11:00 AM to 1:30 PM on Thursday, August 19, 2010, at the firm's Chicago office.
The luncheon will begin with a panel discussion on current and future trends in clean technology investment, to be moderated by Allen Dines, President, Midwest Research University Network (MRUN). The panel will include Dan Broderick, President of Global Agtech Investors Network (GAIN) and John Banta, CEO and Managing Director of IllinoisVENTURES LLC.
Attendees also will hear presentations by the 2009 Innovation Competition winners: Jay Marhoefer, CEO, Intelligent Generation LLC; Vincent Cushing, CEO, Clean Urban Energy Inc.; and Patrick James, President, Blue Planet Strategies. Following the presentations, the 2010 finalists will be announced.
This is the second year that Brinks has sponsored the Brinks Innovation Competition at the annual Midwest Clean Tech conference, allowing developers of new technologies, products and services to showcase their solutions to global challenges in the green technology sector before an international audience of entrepreneurs, financiers, researchers and developers.
Also on the luncheon agenda is a presentation by Peter Eelman, Vice President of Exhibitions for the Association for Manufacturing Technology (AMT), regarding the International Manufacturing Technology Show.
