CHICAGO – Bradley G. Lane, a shareholder and vice-chair of the Pro Bono Committee at Brinks Hofer Gilson & Lione, has been elected treasurer by the board of directors of the Public Interest Law Initiative (PILI) for a two-year term.

Mr. Lane has worked on PILI's Pro Bono Initiative Program and various committees and working groups, and has served on PILI's board of directors since 2005. He was instrumental in forming the Brinks pro bono program in 2000 under the leadership of Jerome Gilson, a named shareholder and former managing partner at the firm who serves as a life director for PILI.

Brinks has supported PILI since 2000, and was recently honored by the organization for its firm-wide commitment to pro bono work.

Mr. Lane is a trial lawyer specializing in intellectual property litigation with an emphasis on patent and trade secret matters. He also counsels clients on intellectual property acquisition and enforcement strategies, with an emphasis on U.S. and international patent protection and patent clearance studies.

Founded in 1977, the Public Interest Law Initiative is a prominent Chicago-based organization that cultivates a lifelong commitment to public interest law by creating opportunities for law students and lawyers to provide public interest and pro bono work in Illinois.
