Roy E. Hofer, a senior shareholder at Brinks Hofer Gilson & Lione, wrote an editorial article titled "Lawmakers Can Do a Better Job," which appeared in the "Commentary" section of the June 25, 2009 edition of the Chicago Tribune. In his comments, Mr. Hofer responded to an earlier editorial article written by Sen. John Cullerton (D-Chicago), president of the Illinois Senate, who gave kudos to the Illinois General Assembly's performance on ethics reform. However, Mr. Hofer asserted that the Illinois General Assembly has been reluctant to enact ethics reform legislation in Illinois and credits the Illinois Reform Commission's report with any strides that may have been made.
