Roy E. Hofer, a senior shareholder at Brinks Hofer Gilson & Lione, wrote an article titled "A Judge-to-be Beat Our Flawed Selection System" which ran in the "Perspective" section of the October 5, 2008 Chicago Tribune. Mr. Hofer expressed his opinion of judicial candidate, Kristyna Colleen Ryan, and her bid to become a judge in the Circuit Court of Cook County. Mr. Hofer discussed the flaws in the election system of Cook County and how someone like Judge Ryan, in his opinion, can get elected using less conventional methods.
