Frankel, chair of the Copyright Group at Brinks Hofer Gilson & Lione, was quoted in an article titled "Eastern Texas' IP 'Rocket Docket' Shows Signs of Slowing Down" in various media on October 2, 2008 and October 3, 2008. Mr. Frankel commented on the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas' docket system, known as the "rocket docket" for its quick filing of patent lawsuits. According to Mr. Frankel, due to increased patent filings over the past five years, but a slowing down in the patent filing process, this court is experiencing a drop in the number of patent lawsuits filed there.
