Brinks Hofer Gilson & Lione was mentioned in ipFrontline.com on May 19, 2007 regarding the Federal Circuit's decision in Brand and Capital Machine Co., et al. v. Miller Veneers et al. The court reversed an earlier decision by the USPTO’s Board of Patent Appeals and Interferences and held that the firm’s client, Capital Machine, did not derive its inventive methods of cutting veneer from wooden logs from Miller Veneers.
