Lawrence G. Almeda, a shareholder in Brinks Hofer Gilson & Lione’s Ann Arbor, Michigan office, was mentioned in the March 20, 2007 edition of Michigan.gov, the official Web site of the Governor of Michigan, regarding his recent appointment to the Advisory Council for Asian and Pacific American Affairs. The Advisory Council for Asian and Pacific American Affairs is charged with serving in an advisory capacity to Michigan’s Governor Jennifer M. Granholm and alerting her to pertinent issues within the Asian and Pacific American community. The council also makes recommendations about programs and policies for the betterment of Asian and Pacific Islanders in Michigan and helps to promote public awareness of Asian and Pacific American culture and accomplishments. Mr. Almeda’s appointment expires on April 30, 2011.
