Sanders N. Hillis
Sanders Hillis is a licensed patent attorney who practices in all facets of intellectual property related to the electrical, digital, and electromechanical arts including client counseling, preparation and prosecution of patent and trademark matters, copyright, licensing and litigation. Mr. Hillis also provides services related to intellectual property portfolio management and international intellectual property management.
He is involved in client counseling and patent preparation and prosecution in such technologically-diverse areas as power system monitoring and management, power metering, electrical generators, power amplifiers, computer software, Internet and e-commerce related technology, audio signal processing, wireless and wireline telephony, digital communication technologies, automotive systems, radio frequency applications, and audio equipment. Mr. Hillis has considerable experience with the Patent Cooperation Treaty, foreign country prosecution of patent applications and appeals to the U.S. Board of Patent Appeals. He has prepared numerous opinions relating to patent infringement/validity and has experience in copyright, trademark and licensing related issues.
Mr. Hillis has been a registered professional engineer since 1993. Prior to joining Brinks Hofer Gilson & Lione, Mr. Hillis worked for 13 years in various capacities as an electrical engineer.
