John F. Nethery
Mr. Nethery's technical education includes undergraduate degrees in Computer Science and Computer Engineering, and a master's degree in Computer Engineering. His legal experience includes more than 13 years of strategizing and executing domestic and international patent prosecution for complex electrical and computer technologies. His legal experience further includes claim interpretation and analysis of complex technology patents, leading to analyses of validity and infringement positions and opinions for such patents, and the preparation of expert witnesses in support of licensing negotiations and anticipated litigation.
Prior to becoming a patent attorney, Mr. Nethery applied his computer science and computer engineering degrees in his role as a computer engineer. His hardware engineering experience includes laptop computer design, fiber optic data communication systems, embedded controller design for Intel microprocessor based architectures, FCC EMC testing and compliance, and local peripheral and video device bus mastering designs with Altera erasable programmable digital logic devices. In addition, Mr. Nethery has extensive engineering experience with digital circuit design, schematic capture, circuit simulation, and printed circuit board layout, as well as experience with design, construction, and hardware and software debugging of hardware prototypes using logic analyzers and digital oscilloscopes. His experience with software languages and computer systems includes hardware description languages, C and other high level programming languages, different varieties of assembly language, Unix system administration, and microcontroller programming.
