Heidi A. Dare
Heidi Dare's practice focuses on patent prosecution and litigation as a member of the Biotech/Pharmaceutical Group.
Prior to joining the firm in 2002, Ms. Dare's non-legal experience included research associate positions with the following medical institutions and universities:
Howard Hughes Medical Institute. Research associate working on the research of Signal Transduction of Grb family proteins and responsibility for determining the binding partner of Grb 7 in breast cancer using knockout mouse technology, Western blotting, protein expression, cDNA cloning, PCR, DNA sequencing and cell culture, as well as research of gene therapy of cystic fibrosis, which research was completed in the laboratories of Dr. Francis Collins and Dr. James Wilson. Ms. Dare was responsible for cloning CFTR retroviral vectors, production of virus and characterization of transduced cell lines and conducting ADA and rLDLR gene transfer studies using bone marrow derived stem cells.
The Ohio State University. Research associate working on researching the regulation of macrophage and monocyte IL-1 beta production, and ICE regulation and responsibility for the characterization of IL-1 beta release using Western blotting, ELISA, primary cell tissue culture, immunoprecipitation and PCR.
University of Michigan. Research Assistant II responsible for primary cultivation and subcultivation of mammalian epithelial and endothelial cells, morphological and biochemical analyses of cells in culture.
