Practice Summary

Eric Sosenko's intellectual property law practice concentrates in the mechanical and material arts and includes worldwide patent and trademark portfolio management and administration for various multinational clients.

His counseling of clients has dealt with a wide range of general and specific intellectual property issues, including the following: invention patentability and trademark registrability opinions; patent application preparation and prosecution; patent application appeals; portfolio management; infringement, non-infringement and product clearance opinions; patent and trademark enforcement, evaluation and advisement; litigation strategy, planning and support; intellectual property licensing and agreement counseling.

In addition to his U.S. practice, Mr. Sosenko's international practice includes extensive experience with international applications under the Patent Cooperation Treaty and national applications with all major foreign patenting authorities, Community Trademark practice (including both registration and opposition practice) and Hague Agreement practice (International Deposit for the Protection of Industrial Designs).

  • Thixomat Incorporated v. Asian Metals and Alloys Corp., Civil Action: 01C 0486 C (W.D. Wisc.) Subject: Action against Asian Metals for infringement of patent on particulate feedstock for semi-solid metal injection molding. Resolution: Settled.
